We as a district thought that everyone would appreciate having a little change of speed from the normal routine of FIND conferences. Apparently that is not true because everyone who has posted a comment here so far thinks very differnt of that... as a matter of fact the exact opposite.
In all honesty i too agree to a small degree what everyone has said in previous posts. and i also admit i too like to see a few people speak to me who are around my age. But this conference was not about the typical UNITY or FUTURE theme that comes up year after year. The conference held at Harvard was about a topic more in depth about our past. what better way to fix our future and our pride than to know what happened to us in the past. That is what the conference was about. Who else would be better to speak about those ideals and points. a younger man or woman closer to our age or the professors and older elders who have lived and experienced it. ALl of you who are complaining about the lack of people our age talking about topics that are years and years gone by, need to really wake up and understand just how important knowing all of this really is.
How do u think the jewish public is so powerful in not only this country but all over the world. Its because of HISTORY! they know their history. they know what happened to them in the past and it is through those teachings that keep them so tightly bonded. you ever wonder why young filipino americans feel so distant from their own heritage or culture?? its because they dont know what their past is. they dont know where they came from and if u want to be united... this is step number one.
we wanted to be different from every conference. deep in our hearts, we feel that we did just that. and we are proud of what we were able to accomplish.
